Thanks for reaching out to us. Here are the steps that you need to take to get your Florida Sales Associate real estate license.

A few points to mention first.

You must be at least 18
You must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent from the US or another country.
You DO NOT have to be a citizen.
You DO NOT have to be a Florida resident.

You have the choice to take the online course or attend the live instructor classes.

If you are electing to sign up for the online course, which some students find more convenient and flexible, here are the steps you need to take..

It is a 63-hour class. There is an end-of-course exam that you have to pass with a score of 70% or more to be able to take the state exam.

Signing up for the online course.

1. Sign up for the online course. Pre License course $279.00 This package includes:

The course and exam prep is a great way to get your license. This is an almost foolproof way of studying for both exams and knowing when you are ready to take the state exam. Visit passexamnow.com for an intro to the prep course.

When you have signed up for the online course you will receive the link to all my supplemental instructional videos. These are short and will help you pre-learn the chapter content. Also there you will find additional chapter questions.

Follow my instructions and videos on how to take the course that I send you after you sign up.

Regardless of which method you sign up for, the following should be done as soon as you can as waiting times are extended due to delays in the approval process.

You will need to Book Fingerprints here or … if you are local we normally use A1 fingerprinting on Cortez Road. 941 224 3456. Give them a call to book. The cost is about $65.00

You will need a Florida ORI number which is for Real Estate Sales and Brokers – FL920010Z. Give that to them. This makes sure that your information goes to the right department in the DBPR

It will not be the old ink and paper type but will be on a scanner that digitally scans your prints.

Put in your application to DBPR using the online service. Application to take the exam. This is required to be able to take the exam. The application, once approved, is valid for two years. The application is about $83.50

You can do both of these even before you start the course. You must get approved before you are allowed to take the final State Exam after completing the course..

As soon as you have passed your course exam or even earlier depending on how well you are doing, book to take your final exam. If you can predict how well you are doing and the expected finish date then go ahead and book your exam for about a week or so after that date. The state exam is about $38.00. You can take it as many times as may be necessary, booking one at a time.

It is important that you do your best to pass the course exam the first time as you have to wait 30 days before you resit the course exam. If you fail that then you have to pay for and sit the course again.

Once you have completed either the online course or the live class and taken and passed the course or class exam, you will be presented with a course completion certificate which you will need to have with you to present to the testing facility when you arrive to take the exam. You will also need two forms of ID that match the information on the completion certificate.
